Although, I'm happy with the time under such windy and lonely conditions, I'm quite disappointed with the fact I had a stitch at km26 that I wasn't able to shake off for the reminder of the marathon.

I felt incredibly strong and my legs & mind were ready to push harder on the last 8kms but the stitch didn't allow me to increase the pace as I couldn't breath normally... I felt so frustrated and angry at times but unfortunately this is part of endurance racing so I had to embrace the suck and leave the PB for another day. On my arm you can see two names there: Penny, who's Thomas's little warrior and Killian who is my best friend's baby son who died a few years ago. He's my running angel ever since. Every time a bit of pain kicked in from that stitch, I looked down at my arm, smiled and told myself "this ain't pain! You don't know anything about pain!", I moved my head up and continued running.

It was such a weird & lonely but a wonderful marathon day at the same time. Seeing so many of my Trim AC buddies around made this day impossible to forget: from the ones cheering on & handling bottles to those running in all sort of directions doing their own marathons. A special call out to my great triathlete friends; Kieran Corcoran for keeping me company on the last 16kms and Ollie Carty for keeping the cars out of my way on the last loop! I have to say that I actually enjoyed this marathon better than any other organised marathons.

I'm very honored of being part of the lovely running community that we have in TRIM AC.
