Port Maquarie on the Pacific Coast of Australia was the location of Ironman Australia on Sunday. Having put in months of arduous training over three events behind them Denise and Michael Molloy got to go head to head in a battle of the clans against Micheals sister Sharon (Ironman 4 timer) and her husband Cal Cotter who live in Australia. They were very pleased with their efforts. The race consisted of 3.8km swim,180.25km cycle and 40.2km run. Michael clocked 12.06.29 and Denise finished in 13.10.55 (particular credit is due to Denise who is an open water swim novice.)

Tom Moore and Paddy O Meara headed to the Belfast Marathon on Sunday. Race organisers had a surprise up their sleeves, at no extra cost they got a marathon which was edging towards ultra with an extra few hundred metres thrown in. Tom got a pb regardless of the bonus yardage running 3.1306 while Paddy ran 3.51.57.
